MORNING GLORY OUT NATIONALLY MAY 19TH

SPECIAL ADVANCE CD RELEASE SHOW SET MARCH 7th

LaGrange, GA ...
Jammates Records announces a May 19th national release date for Morning Glory, the label's sophomore CD from Columbus, Georgia-based roots/blues/rock singer and guitarist Marshall Ruffin. Among those joining Ruffin on the new record are Dennis Baraw (bass), Allen Marcha (drums), and a special guest appearance by Steve Dancz (Hammond organ and Wurlizer electric piano).

In advance of the CD's national release, Marshall Ruffin will perform a special regional CD release show Saturday, March 7th at The Loft Live in Columbus, GA. Backed by his touring band, Ruffin also will be joined on the stage with opener Joe McGuinness, a recent winner of the Atlanta Blues Challenge. Ruffin's Loft Live show starts at 9:00pm.

Morning Glory, Marshall Ruffin's new CD,is a drastic departure from Rich Man's Dime, his freshman release which spent eight weeks on the roots/blues radio chart. Morning Glory illuminates Marshall Ruffin's roots/rock abilities and features five original songs, all written by the artist. Early reviews compare the Morning Glory singles to the classic sounds of Traffic and Cream blended with the vibe of modern rockers The Black Keys and The Black Crowes. Morning Glory was tracked and mixed at the Loft Recording Studios in Columbus, GA, produced by Pat Patten and Marshall Ruffin, mixed by Steve Meadows, and mastered by the legendary Rodney Mills (Atlanta Rhythm Section, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Gregg Allman).

The twenty-four year old Marshall Ruffin grew up in typical Americana where science was at the family's fabric. After finding a guitar in the attic during his high school years, Ruffin began to teach himself to play. It was while attending college in Richmond, Virginia that he found his focus in the music department. After two years, Marshall applied and was accepted to the Berklee College of Music to complete his formal studies. During his Boston stay, Ruffin recognized and tapped into his songwriting and vocal gifts. Marshall now hails from Columbus, GA, home of mother of the blues, Ma Rainey. Rich Man's Dime, Marshall Ruffin's 2008 freshman EP, spent eight weeks on the Roots Music Reports' roots/blues chart reaching #34 and ending the year at #4 on the Georgia Roots Radio Airplay Chart.
